Commerce
The same products, many prices, no spreadsheets
Consumers and resellers, several countries and several sales channels — from the same products. The price is set per customer type and market, and what you have not priced is not sold there.
Variants
Every variant has its own article number
Colour and size are added as options on the product, and every variant gets its own article number, its own images and its own price.

| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 litre · SandKAN-1000-S | 329 |
| 1 litre · CharcoalKAN-1000-K | 329 |
| 1.5 litre · SandKAN-1500-S | 459 |
| 1.5 litre · CharcoalKAN-1500-K | Not sold here |
The last variant has no price, so it is not sold. The admin says so in the field — and the shop shows «Not for sale», not 0.00.
Price lists
One price list per customer type, in every market
A price list belongs to one market and applies to the customer types you tick. The same customer type cannot be in two price lists in the same market, so there are never two prices somebody has to choose between.
| Name | Market | Customer types |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer Norway | Norway | Consumer |
| Reseller Norway | Norway | Reseller, Distributor |
| Consumer Sweden | Sweden | Consumer |
| Wholesale Germany | Germany | Reseller |
Every price list says whether its prices include tax, and one of them is the default: the one the admin shows where no customer group is named.
The price
And why it holds when there are many
Three things decide what a customer pays: which market they buy in, which customer type they are, and whether the item has a price there.
Where you sell, and in which currency
A market is where you sell, in which currency, and how prices are rounded. A market can be one country or several.
One market is enough to start. You add the next one in the admin the day you need it, with the same products.
A new country is not a new shop.
Who pays what
Consumer, reseller, distributor — the customer types are your own, and you name them what you like. Each customer type gets one price list in each market.
On the product the prices sit in a grid: customer types down, markets across. With one customer type and one market, it is a single price field.
No discount codes to give resellers the right price.
What has a price is sold
There is no separate list of which items a price list offers. A variant with a price in the list is sold there. One without is not.
And an empty price is not the same as 0. 0 is free, because somebody decided so. Empty is not for sale.
One place to look, one place to change.
Sales channels
Add a sales channel without touching the products
A sales channel is a shop your customers come to: the online shop for consumers, a business portal for resellers. Each channel decides who it sells to, and whether customers must sign in before they see prices.
On the product you tick which channels it is published in, and each channel can have its own look. The prices come from the price lists — the channel needs none of its own.
The rest
And the rest of what a shop needs
-
Orders
What somebody bought, what it cost and where it is. An order is a receipt: it does not get rewritten when a setting changes later.
-
Checkout
Checkout follows the market and channel the customer is buying in: the right currency, the right prices and the payment methods you have chosen there.
-
Inventory
Stock per variant and location, and the movements that change it. A product nobody tracks stock for shows a dash — not 0.
-
Payments
You choose which payment methods are offered in each market and each channel. The payment itself goes through the provider, such as Stripe.
Questions
What usually comes up
We have one price and one country. Is this too much?
No. One market and one price list is a complete shop, and then the price is a single field on the product. The rest is there the day you need it — it does not have to be filled in today.
What happens to a product with no price in a channel?
It is not sold there, and the shop says «Not for sale». It does not show 0.00, and it does not quietly hide the product either — both make a mistake look like a decision.
Can the products come from the system we have?
Yes. If you run Exigo, products and prices come from there, and new variants and price changes in the admin are sent back to Exigo. If you run something else, a connection is built to it — bring it to the demo.
